VALENTINES DAY IS NOT OVER! Let us get creative and make this lovers day indoors unforgettable. When you think about it, spending valentines weekend indoors is not a bad thing, as you will be eliminating the dreaded rush to get a table booked at your favourite restaurant. Spending Vday at home is not only hassle-free, but it also gives you a chance to do something different.
Here are five ideas that will make valentines day 2021 the best thus far!
1. Brunch in bed
Set the mood for the day! Creating a brunch platter to be enjoyed with a glass of bubbly in bed. The best thing about this platter is that it's super easy to put together, which requires little time in the kitchen and more time snuggling up in bed with your partner watching your favourite rom-com classic or binging on the latest Netflix series.
Creating your brunch platter (Charcuterie board) :
-Pastries and bread (Croissant, Waffles, Cinamon roll, Pancakes, Choc au pain, french toast, Crusty bread, Donut)
-Nuts (Pecans, Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans, Pistachios)
-Chocolate (Good quality dark or milk chocolate)
-Fruits (Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Grapes, Oranges)
-Meat and dairy (Sausage, Bacon, Cheese, Salami, Granola+Yogurt)
-Protein (Scrambled/fried/ boiled eggs, baked beans)
-Drinks (Prosseco, Fresh juice, Hot chocolate, Tea, Coffee, Orange juice+champagne)
2. Bake with the family
Why not get the kids involved? Valentines can be equally as fun by spending the afternoon baking heart-shaped cookies with the family. I mean nothing, says I love you like sugary baked goods. Don't forget to get creative after all decorating your cookies is only the best part!

HEART SHAPE COOKIE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS (MAKES 20-24 COOKIES)
200g Unsalted butter (softened)
200g Caster sugar
2 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
400g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Rolling pin
Heart-shape cookie cutter
Icing, sprinkles and decorative ingredients
METHOD
1.In a bowl cream butter and sugar together. Add vanilla and whisk until fully combined.
2. Add flour and baking powder to bowl and mix with a spoon until a rough dough starts to form.
3.Pre-heat oven 190•C. Transferred dough onto floured surface and kneed until a smooth dough ball has formed.
4.Roll out dough 4 mm thick. Cut out heart shapes using cookie cutter.
5. Transfer cookie dough to a baking pan and bake in oven for 10-13 minutes or until golden.
6.Allow Cookies to cool before decorating.
7.GO WILD! Decorate cookie however you want and enjoy!
3. Galentine's Virtual party

4. Put together a valentines Hamper
Why not express your love through a hamper? Unfortunately for some lovers spending valentines together this year won't be possible. Whatever the reason maybe putting together snacks that they love in form of a hamper is a great way to show them that you are still thinking them on this special day.
HOW TO PUT TOGETHER A HAMPER :
-Order your gift box ,cellophane wrap , ribbon or string.
-Purchase all the goodies that they love.
-Once you have all your items together arrange it nicely in the gift box.
- Wrap the gift box using cellophane wrap and tie it with a string/ribbon.
- Now you have you valentines hamper together all you need to do is drop it to there front door or use a postal service.
5. Romantic dinner for 2
A dinner for two in the comfort of your own home can be equally as romantic as going out, if not more! All you need to do is set the mood with candles, flowers and a nice table set up.
